Estate of G.N. Savin – Zakrevskikh
Detailed description
An old manor house in Moscow, famous since the end of the XVIII century. The coat of arms of the Savin family adorns the pediment of the main manor house. The coat of arms is made in the form of a shield with three flaming grenades and a rafter with a star on the right and an oblique apple on the left. Above the shield is a noble helmet decorated with a grenadier cap with ostrich feathers. At the bottom of the shield is the inscription "For loyalty and jealousy." There are outbuildings on both sides of the main house. The manor was built in the classical style according to the design of the great architect M. Kazakov. The two-storey house, built of stone and devoid of unnecessary decorations, is austere and stands on a basement. The pediment is decorated with simple pilasters. In the middle of the 19th century, the mansion was acquired by the former governor of Moscow, A.A. Zakrevsky.
