Observation deck
Detailed description
There is an observation deck on the embankment, known for its circular view of the city. It was built in the 1980s and has become one of the most popular attractions in St. Petersburg. At first, there was a monument to the Liberators of Leningrad on the site of the observation deck, which was built in honor of the victory of the Soviet Union in World War II. It was dismantled in 1990, and an observation deck was installed in its place.
It was designed by architect A. Arkhangelsky. It was built on high pillars to provide a maximum all-round view of the city. At the base there are additional playgrounds and gazebos for recreation for tourists and visitors.
