The Church of the Entrance of the Lord to Jerusalem
Detailed description
The Winter Church of St. Sophia Cathedral was built in 1759 at the expense of Queen Elizabeth on the site of the church built in 1336 under Metropolitan Dimitri (Sechenov). It was a basilica with Baroque ornaments, completed with a small wooden octagon. In 1929, the dome and ceiling were destroyed during the war, and the church was closed. In 1953, it was restored without a dome and was used as a lecture hall at the museum.
