Detailed description

The stone Trinity Church was built in 1552. The construction site was chosen near the center of Moskovsky Torg. In memory of the Kazan Victory, seven wooden churches were built next to the Trinity Church. Between 1555 and 1561, a new stone church was built on the site of the wooden church by architects Varma and Postnik Yakovlev. According to legend, Saint Macarius, Metropolitan of Moscow, decided to build a church of eight churches attached to the altar to celebrate Victory Day during the Kazan invasion. The construction of nine churches was completed by the construction of the main church of the diocese and surrounding it with eight attached churches. The Church of the Holy Trinity was incorporated into the cathedral, became the eastern altar, and was dedicated in honor of the Holy Trinity.
