P.K. Ferzen's Mansion
Detailed description
Of all the houses on the English Embankment, P.K. Felsen's house is the smallest. Its width is just over 13 meters. However, despite its small size, the history of the mansion is impressive. According to the documents, the mansion dates back to 1713. But the first building on this site was erected in 1730. Until the 19th century, the mansion had many owners, but it was not until 1838 that it acquired a permanent owner, who became P.K. Felsen. By his order, the mansion was rebuilt in the imperial style. The height of the house was increased, the windows were re-decorated, a hanging cornice and molded medallions appeared. Today, fragments of stucco, marble window frames and wooden architraves remind of the old decoration.
