The building of the Surf stereo cinema
Detailed description
Before the revolution, there was a grain warehouse of the great merchant Paramonov. The dilapidated building was turned into a seasonal cinema. Its construction was completed in 1952. The new cinema was called "Surf" because of its location on the riverbank. The cinema remained seasonal until 1959. In 1959-1960, extensive work was carried out on the installation of central heating, plumbing and sewerage, and the cinema began to operate around the clock. In April 1978, after reconstruction, the stereo cinema theater was opened. In addition to replacing the equipment, the exterior of the building was also changed. In 2016, after a long period of downtime, reconstruction began.
