Central electric station of the city tram
Detailed description
With the advent of a new transport called the tram, a Central electric station was built in St. Petersburg in 1907. Where there were machine rooms, the building stood out with huge windows, the tower with a facade with a "baroque" stepped finish stood out against the general background, it looks rich and expressive. All this is complemented by a canopy raised above the round windows and a hipped roof with a spire. The red brick masonry with light plaster elements looks harmoniously on the machine room building. Metal roof elements, wrought iron grilles and stairs add expressiveness to the building.
