Zurova House - Junkers Mansion
Detailed description
This building is an architectural monument of regional significance. The house changed hands many times and was constantly being rebuilt. It is named after several of them. Countess Ekaterina Alexandrovna Zurova owned the house since 1832, and it was in the classical style. In 1848, architect A. K. Kolman rebuilt the building for the Chief Synodal prosecutor Grigory Petrovich Mitusov in the neo-Baroque style. The house was built and rebuilt by the academician of architecture A.L. Gong for the merchant of the 1st guild Ernst Friedrich Junkers in 1879-1880. This type of house has been preserved to this day. Then, after E. F. Junkers, the house had several owners. Among them was officer Eric Augustovich Pistolkors, whose wife Olga Valerianovna married Grand Duke Pavel Alexandrovich after their divorce. According to the archive, in the 1930s, the Estonian consulate was located here, and part of the building was occupied by municipal apartments. The Geological Department has been located here since 1965. The Office of Federal Judicial Enforcement in St. Petersburg is located here.
