The complex of buildings of the Post Office and brick
Detailed description
This is an authentic place of the city of St. Petersburg, on this place was the estate of Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov. Then the site was acquired by the Post Office. In 1845, a post Office and carriage building was built for the department, while retaining the gates that connected the manor house with the buildings. As a result, a comfortable establishment was formed here: a house for visitors, houses for workers, a closed glazed courtyard, a waiting room with sofas, a carriage hall, a stable and a blacksmith shop. It was a modern institution. Nearby are Pochtamtskaya Street, Pochtamtsky Bridge. The complex of buildings is currently on the balance of the Main Post Office and is in urgent need of restoration. Now these buildings are plastered, painted yellow, with an iron roof.
