The mansion of N.T. Kashtanov
Detailed description
The house has preserved the romantic love story of American Armand Hammer and Russian singer Olga Vadina, who sang in Yalta cafes and performed gypsy romances. The two-storey mansion with an attic and semicircular gables was built in 1881. The mansion had 30 rooms, four of which were decorated in different styles. In one of the rooms there was a majolica fireplace designed by Mikhail Vrubel. In 1959, when the building was transferred to the Lebanese Embassy, the fireplace was dismantled and restored. In 1995, he was exhibited in London at an exhibition dedicated to Sergei Diaghilev.
