The House of the Pigeons
Detailed description
Russian Russian architect Vasily Petrovich Stasov, the founder of the Russian Empire style, built the architectural structure in 1810-1823. The territory passed to the merchant in the 1790s from the merchant Nikiforov D. N.
The house belonged to the Golubin family until 1917. It was decided to add a new building to the stone house designed by V. P. Stasov. The building was often rebuilt. The building, together with the neighboring building, form an architectural ensemble and create the backdrop for the Church of St. Catherine the Great Martyr. The Golubin family allocated material assets for the construction of the temple. There were three-tiered bypass galleries in the courtyard of the house, which were destroyed in 1960 during the major renovation of the building.
