The apartment house of merchant I.M. Kryukov
Detailed description
The Kryukov Apartment building is a three-storey stone building with a basement. Construction began on the site where it was erected in the second half of the 18th century. At that time, the merchant Alexander Olkhin owned the site. The facades of the house are decorated with Baroque elements - an arched pediment with a round window, arched architraves, elegant stucco decor and wrought-iron balcony grilles. In 1894, the artist Nikolai Dubovsky lived here. Alexander Popov, the inventor of the radio, also lived in the house, as evidenced by the memorial plaque, and other famous personalities: Bruni, Sokolov, Kozlov, Vvedensky.
