L.N. Benois apartment house
Detailed description
The neoclassical Benoit House was built by order of the first Russian insurance company. The plasticity of the facade, lined with light pottery stone, specially delivered for construction from Sweden, is emphasized by elegant decorative details and a low portico. The exit from the open front courtyard is decorated with two columns of red Gangut granite. The walls of the building are lined with this stone, and small mosaic fragments adorn the walls of the first floor of the courtyard.
