The estate of the Hunters
Detailed description
The mansion was rebuilt in 1817-1820. Ensign Pavel Yakovlevich Okhotnikov bought the estate in 1808 from the Talyzins, but in 1812 it burned down. The new house was built in the spirit of classicism. The main facade of the building is decorated with a stucco triangular pediment above a portico on eight columns. Arched passages led to the courtyard on the sides of the house. There were outbuildings, outbuildings and a house church in the courtyard. From 1879 to 1915, the estate belonged to the merchants of the Pegovs. With them, the Polivanov Gymnasium was located in the building. In 1921, the estate housed the State Academy of Art Sciences, now it houses the Children's Art School No. 1 named after V. A. Serov and the Children's Music School No. 11 named after V. I. Muradeli. The wings, which originally served as stables, became a sports hall when the gymnasium was opened, and now art and sculpture workshops are located here.
