The Small Hermitage
Detailed description
An architectural monument that is part of the museum complex of the State Hermitage Museum. It was built in 1764-1775. Architects J. B. Wallin-Delamotte and J. M. Felten worked on the project of the building. The building is a link between the Baroque Winter Palace and the classical Bolshoi and New Hermitage. This building is famous for its hanging gardens, which were planted here by order of Catherine II in 1766.
